Plot. VS. is an urban rites of passage drama set in the hostile and exciting UK rap battle scene.
I got to design looks which mirrored the underground rap battle scene in the UK which featured a variety of styles, from box braids, to fros to short fades, and I was tasked with creating some complex FX sequences, one of which involved the actors’ hair getting shaved in the scene (for real!) to reveal a large scar on the scalp. I also incorporated custom tattoos into my designs, and ever-changing hair color and styles to represent the dynamic world of rap battling. This movie was a blast!
